Nymphenburg Candleholder "Nest Votive" designed by Ted Muehling (Germany)

This votive candle holder that Ted Muehling has designed for the Nymphenburg porcelain factory shows both his love for the delicate organic shapes of nature and his fascination for the capricious beauty of porcelain. Muehling was only able to realize his design thanks to the highly skilled work of the Nymphenburg craftsmen. They are masters at removing the unfired porcelain shape from the mould after a very short drying time. Only a film of porcelain is allowed to form. This is the only way to ensure the wafer-thin quality of the porcelain.
